Spring preview: Waiting to break out

Missouri opens spring football practice on March 11th, just four days from now. Over the next week, will be previewing the most anticipated spring in school history from every possible angle. Over the last week, we have previewed every position on the team. Today, we take a look at five players you may not know now who could be big contributors in 2008:

Devion Moore: Moore is not getting the pub in the tailback battle and he's not likely to overtake Jimmy Jackson and Derrick Washington this spring. But this kid has been underrated for a couple of years now, in our opinion. He is going to get plenty of chances with the second-team offense this spring while Jackson and Washington split most of the first-team reps. He has a chance to really make some noise this spring.

Del Howard: Howard kind of took the route of his classmate Jared Perry. He burst on the scene with a fantastic--and somewhat surprising--true freshman year and then didn't do a ton as a sophomore. But Howard always seemed to be around the ball and he has had a year to get used to the safety position. It would not be a bit surprising to see him as the Tigers' nickel back, and perhaps even a starter, by the end of spring ball.
