Southerland has an SEC offer

The Southerland already has one son playing major college football and they will soon have another. Brannan Southerland plays fullback at Georgia and Blake Southerland already has one SEC offer and many more programs are showing interest.

"I went to Vanderbilt for the Georgia game last year and Coach Bobby Johnson offered me up there," said Southerland.

"I was shocked by the offer. I thought I was just going up there for a visit, nothing big, and Coach Johnson pulled me aside and offered me, so I was shocked."

What does this junior from Norcross (Ga.) - Greater Atlanta Christian know about the Commadores?

"They are a strong academic strong, the coaches are real nice, and Nashville is a nice city. I did not see too much of it when I was there, but what I did I liked."

Other than the SEC offer, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker is hearing from a number of other schools.

"I've gotten the most stuff from Georgia, Tennessee, N.C. State, and Ole Miss. Some other schools have sent me some stuff, but I have gotten the most from them."

A couple of schools lead for now, but things could change as we go through the spring and more schools get out to see Southerland during the evaluation period.
