Sophomore WR making early waves
One of the names to keep an eye on for the class of 2010 is Miami (Fla.) Westlake Prep standout Ted Meline. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound athlete spent time at wide receiver and quarterback for his team as a sophomore and has a chance to be electric catching the ball at the next level.
While his coach is already getting interest about the sophomore standout, Meline is focused on what he is doing on the field.
"The season went great," Meline said. "I just had a little problem like with pressure. When I was at quarterback sometimes I ran with my head down and couldn't find an open receiver. That was the only problem I had all season."
Meline rushed for over 750 yards from his quarterback position as a sophomore but has the explosiveness to be a difference maker at wide receiver. He will be getting an early start on the recruiting process this summer on a college trip.
"Coach wants to be taking me to some 12 day trip to like 10 camps," he said. "It's with Ted Ginn's dad. I think it's in the summer time."
While Meline was a force on the offensive side of the ball as a sophomore, his junior season could see him playing both ways.
"Coach is trying to see if I can play cornerback on defense so I'm trying to get my hips right," he said. "I'm good with it."
Among the schools that have been contacting his coach with interest, have been Florida State and UAB.
