Longhorns make big impression on Vaccaro
If actions speak louder than words, then Brownwood (Texas) High defensive back Kenny Vaccaro sent quite a message to the Texas Longhorns coaching staff this weekend
The 6-0, 176-pound Vaccaro received word from his high school coach on Friday that the Texas coaching staff wanted him to switch his plans for visiting Texas on February 23rd and instead come in this weekend.
Short notice or not, Vaccaro didn't need to be asked twice.
"I got there early this morning," Vacarro said. "I didn't even find anything out until (Friday), but when I heard that they wanted me to come in this weekend, I was going to make it. They ended up taking me into the office with Coach Brown and they offered me today."
The offer to Vaccaro is only the second that the Longhorns have offered to a defensive back thus far in the 2009 recruiting class.
According to Vaccaro, the family atmosphere in Austin really caught his attention.
"The thing that I liked more than any other things is the way they took care of me and my mom," Vaccaro said. "They just made her feel very comfortable the entire day and that means a lot."
With the offer in hand, Vaccaro now has a lot to think about after picking up offers on consecutive weekends from Oklahoma and Texas.
"I think me and my mom are going to come back for the Junior Day on the 23rd," Vaccaro, who confirmed that he might commit to the Longhorns on that visit, said. "Texas definitely made a big move today."
