Avery's signed, so now what?
Xavier Avery caused some to doubt his commitment to UGA after visiting Oklahoma with his teammate and Sooner signee Joshua Jarboe a couple of weeks ago, but he did sign with the Dawgs on Wednesday. UGASports stopped in at Cedar Grove to see Avery sign and he is excited about being a part of the Bulldog program.
"It feels real good that I signed with UGA," said Avery. "That is where I always wanted to go. I cannot wait to spend the next four years in Athens."
Avery could be the best overall athlete in the Bulldog class as he stars in football, baseball and track in high school. He is excited about being part of a class full of talent and he has high expectations for this group.
"I know this class is full of big time recruits and happy to be going in with a championship caliber group. I hope they are ready to get some rings together."
The position this 5-foot-11, 185-pound athlete will play in Athens is still up in the air and he is open to playing offense or defense. He will leave that in the hands of the UGA coaching staff.
