Basketball: Following the Future

With the regular season winding down, teams are starting to prepare themselves for regional tournament action. Lineups are set, players are getting healthy, and everyone should know their role on the team by now. Let's take a look at how the UGA Commits/Signees are faring:

Basketball: Following the Future

2008 Signees

Dustin Ware: "Things are still going for us and we are still undefeated. We didn't really have a tough game last week, we beat Weber and Mt. Vernon in blowouts. I didn't really play much in either game - I played 1.5 quarters against Weber and had 7 points and 6 assists. We won by about 60. I got in early foul trouble against Mt. Vernon and finished with 13 points."

"This week we have Senior Night on Tuesday at home against Georgia Walton and then we travel to Monroe on Friday night. I think I am averaging about 17 points a game now and 8.5 assists, close to 9 a game."

"We are looking for our third state championship in the last 4 years. We will start the Region tournament in the next week or two at Mt. Vernon and then the State tournament will all be in South Georgia around the Macon and Albany area."

Howard Thompkins: "We lost to Greater Atlanta Christian by two on Friday and we beat Cross Keys pretty easily on Tuesday. Against GAC, we were up by about 15 points going into the fourth quarter, but they made a run on us and we did not respond well to it. We had a shot at the end, but we threw it out of bounds. I finished with 28 points and 8 rebounds."
