BOL notebook: McElroy staying put
Two rumored transfers on the Alabama football team have been shot down in as many days, with backup quarterback Greg McElroy dispelling talk that he is on his way out. The Texas native told reporters he has no intentions of leaving.
"I heard a lot of people say I was going to Hawaii," said McElroy. "I wouldn't mind vacationing there. My dad is an alumni out there, I've been to the Aloha Bowl a couple of times but no, I'm at Alabama to stay."
McElroy played in Alabama's season opener against Western Carolina, completing eight of nine passes, but did not throw another pass all season. The sophomore-to-be will be challenged in the spring for the No.2 quarterback position by Nick Fanuzzi, who appeared in one game as a true freshman.

The 250-pound Hall said he will make it home during the players short break before traveling to Shreveport (La.). "You miss home but there isn't much you can do about it.
