Did visit solidify Jackson’s commitment?
Griffin (Ga.) four-star Rivals100 defensive end Toby Jackson originally had a visit to set to visit Alabama this weekend, but late Thursday decided Athens was where he would be.
"I had a real good time, the visit was great and I realty enjoyed it," said Jackson about his visit to Georgia. "I had a chance to bond with some of the players, spend some time with the coaches and I am happy I went."
He had a visit to Alabama set originally, but that changed Thursday night.
"I was just sitting there thinking about things and I thought it would cool to go over to Georgia for their GALA this weekend. Nothing was set up, but then I talked to Coach [Rodney] Garner and he said I should come on up."
"I just planned to go to the GALA, but then I ended up making it my official visit. Everything went great and me and my parents loved it."
The GALA meant a lot to Jackson because one of his family members was honored Friday night.
"My Uncle Freddy Gilbert (former UGA star) was recognized and it was special to see him up there giving a speech at this event. It showed how Georgia recognizes their former players and it was great."
"I also got to meet Herschel Walker and he was real nice. Georgia really knows how to take care of their current and former players and that is one thing I like about Georgia."
