ASU Report Card
Senior defensive end Lawrence Jackson put on a show in the desert, providing Trojan fans with a Thanksgiving they would not soon forget. He set a Trojan record with five and a half tackles for a loss and kept Rudy Carpenter running for his life all evening long.
The 44-22 pounding of the Sun Devils was the most impressive performance of the season for USC as you can see in this week's report card.
Running Backs: B-
Again Chauncey Washington received the bulk of the carries with 22 for 81 yards. The 3.6 yards per carry average really just kept the ASU defense honest, as most of the success for USC came through the air. Joe McKnight had just seven carries but caught five passes for 71 yards and a touchdown.
Wide Receivers/Tight ends: A-
Five grabs a piece for Fred Davis, Patrick Turner and Vidal Hazelton showed how well the Trojans distributed the ball. Davis stretched his plays to 119 yards with a ton of yardage after the catch. Many of the pass plays were close to the line of scrimmage, but guys made the most of their opportunities when they got the ball in space.
