Media Day Notebook: Focus on Kansas

The last time Missouri saw the Kansas Jayhawks up close, the Tigers were running receivers all over Faurot Field on the way to a 42-17 win in last year's regular season finale. The outfit they'll see at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday night bears little resemblance.

"They're a way better football team," said Sean Weatherspoon. "It's pretty obvious. 11-0, they're doing great."

"Probably the best team we'll play all year," added Tony Temple. "They're great."

Asked for specifics, different Tigers pointed to different things.

"Obviously, the quarterback is a huge difference. We all know it's very difficult to play at a high level and to succeed without a quarterback and Todd (Reesing) is really very, very impressive to watch," Gary Pinkel said. "One thing that's really helped them this year is they're number one in the nation in turnover margin. If you look at their Big 12 games themselves, the seven that they've played, I think they're something like plus 17, a remarkable number for seven games. We all know how high that parallels winning and losing."
