What can Brown do for you?
A season that began with so much promise for the Kent State football team has taken yet another turn for the worst.
It started with three key Mid-American Conference losses to Akron, Miami and Bowling Green, then the season-ending injury to starting quarterback Julian Edelman. With back-up quarterback Anthony Magazu already on the shelf with a high-ankle sprain suffered at Ohio State, the Golden Flashes turned to true freshman Giorgio Morgan.
Morgan turned in a solid performance in a 41-32 loss to Central Michigan, but he was lost for the season in the first quarter of last week's loss at Northern Illinois.
"I don't think Giorgio will be back this year," said Kent State head coach Doug Martin. "It's a torn MCL ligament. On film, we're probably lucky that's all it is; it looked a lot worse than that."
Now, the Flashes turn to fourth-stringer Jon Brown, who completed 16 of 34 passes for 132 yards with one touchdown and one interception in relief duty on Saturday.
