Austin LB starting to draw attention

With week 10 in the books for Texas high school football, thousands of players from around the state find themselves either turning in their equipment, relishing in a district championship or preparing themselves for a run in the playoffs. Regardless of what each player is doing right now though, many of them find it hard to believe that it's already been two and a half months since they were licking their chops, anxiously awaiting an opportunity to get back on the field every Friday night.

One such player awaiting a return to the field was Austin (Texas) LBJ's Kerry Hyder, and the star linebacker had a better reason than most to want to get back.

The 6-3, 240 pound linebacker was having a great sophomore year before an early season ending injury and he had the entire off-season to wait before taking the field again.

As far as recruiting goes, Hyder says that a handful of schools have been keeping in contact with him and he expects the number to grow as more and more coaches see how he has been performing this season. Schools showing interest include Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Notre Dame and Texas.
