Reesing the talk of Lake Travis
All Todd Reesing has done during his football career is get the job done. Most people know Reesing as a quarterback. After all, he was the Texas 4A player of the year as a junior. His stats during his school career were mind boggling. But it was the experience he gained as a sophomore that might have propelled him to the quarterback he is today.
"It really all started with his sophomore year when played wide receiver in our offense," said Jeff Dicus, the head coach at Lake Travis High. "He was an all-district receiver that year and I think it helped him understand the offense and what receivers do. Then during his junior and senior year he moved to quarterback and knew the whole package."
But Dicus saw something in Reesing and knew his quarterback would get everything figured out.
"The first game his junior year he turned the ball over four times," Dicus said. "He ended up with six on the whole season. He settled down and understood those five guys in front of you are there to help. He's just one of those kids you knew would have success despite his size."
After settling into the offense Reesing finished with 3,150 yards that season with 29 touchdowns. He took home every honor that season that was possible.
