Wednesday Night Practice Notes

Part of the benefit of an open date is to get well. Part of it is to improve overall fundamentally and part of it is for development of younger players.

For linebacker Dorian Davis the open date is a chance to continue to build his confidence. Davis has played significantly more snaps on defense the last two weeks and is looking to get more opportunities.

"I think my confidence is starting to improve," Davis said. "I am getting used to the defense and things are starting to slow down for me. The jump from college to high school is not easy because of the speed."

The game slowing down is a direct result of understanding the defensive scheme better and because it is slowing down, the Iowa native feels that he is starting to use his athletic ability.
