Practice Report: Tide wraps second week

The Crimson Tide football team wrapped their second full week of fall camp with a Friday afternoon practice in shorts and shoulderpads at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

Offense focuses on details

The Crimson Tide offense spent Friday's practice working on some of the crucial but often overlooked details of their respective positions.

Offensive line coach Joe Pendry continued to focus on pulling techniques, particularly with some of his younger linemen. Senior right tackle Chris Capps worked in a group with Evan Cardwell, William Vlachos, David Ross and B.J. Stabler.

Meanwhile, the tight ends and wide receivers focused on quick hitch routes and the Tide running backs spent time working on run blocking and pass protection.

*** Freshman defensive end Jeremy Elder was back in a crimson jersey on Friday after donning a black non-contact jersey for most of the week.

*** The Crimson Tide will hold its second pre-season scrimmage tomorrow at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The scrimmage will be closed to both the media and the public, though head coach Nick Saban will address the media following the scrimmage.
