Opportunity rises as Browning slims down

While other players out of Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville high school receive more attention for playing at the so-called skill-positions redshirt freshman Bryant Browning has been taking care of his own business and has seen himself moving up the depth chart at offensive tackle.

Many people don't know that Browning was ranked No. 1 in his high school graduating class because most people couldn't get past the fact he was 6-foot-4, 339-pounds while in high school. Even as a true freshman at Ohio State Browning tipped the scales at 328 pounds but now the weight is coming off and Browning is seeing positive results.

"I am around 310-315 (pounds)," Browning said. "I've been working really hard in the weight room in trying to get bigger and stronger."

Now in his second year in the program, Browning feels as if things are starting to come together and he possesses more than just the physical tools to succeed on the field.

"Well I feel like a much smarter player than I did," Browning said. "Knowing the plays and doing what the coaches are telling me and working my technique and I am just trying to be an overall better player."
