Waco standout ready to represent at THSCA
Tuesday night high school stars from across the state of Texas will make their way into Amon G. Carter Stadium on the TCU campus in Ft. Worth, Texas.
The occasion is as good as it gets, the THSCA All-Star Game pitting some of the best senior football players from the North Texas against the best from the South.
On the field for the festivities will be Waco High standout defensive end Antonio Johnson, who will be competing for the North squad. As a senior Johnson helped guide the Waco Lions to the Div. II State Championship game recording 76 tackles (36 solos), 16.5 sacks and 25 tackles for a loss from his defensive end position and earning Waco Tribune-Herald Super Centex Defensive Player or the Year and 16-4A Defensive MVP honors.
Following the season Johnson took visits to Kansas State and Baylor before choosing to stay in Waco and play for the hometown Baylor Bears.
