25 Tigers to watch: #14 Sean Weatherspoon

The Missouri Tigers open camp on August 4th, which is now just 14 days away. Over the next 25 days, PowerMizzou.com is counting down the 25 players on the roster who will be most influential in determining just how good the Tigers are this season. To be clear, this is not a list of the 25 best players on the roster. It is not a list of the players that will have the biggest seasons or put up the best numbers. In reverse order, we are counting down the 25 players who we think could have the most influence on the outcome of the 12 games on Missouri's 2007 schedule.

14. Sean Weatherspoon

Why he's on the list: One of the biggest things on the wish list of Tiger fans the last few years has been a big, fast, mean linebacker. Spoon seems to fit the bill. When he makes plays, you know it. Not just because he seems to be around every tackle, but because he plays with more emotion than anyone on the team. Sophomores do not step up as leaders very often, but that seemed to be exactly what this one from Jasper, Texas did in the spring. Missouri's defensive tackles look to be up there with some of the best tandems in the league, but it won't mean much if the linebackers aren't flying around behind them making plays. Weatherspoon looks like he could do exactly that on a consistent basis.
