Beavs land a QB!

Thanks to some very impressive camp and combine performances, Ryan Katz found himself in a whirlwind when it came to his college recruitment. Scholarship offers were piling up from schools up and down the West Coast and other programs were starting to get involved. But when it came down to it, the solid 6-foot-1, 195-pound quarterback from Santa Monica High School in California never could get the first Pac-10 school that offered him out of his mind.

"After going to camp and talking to Coach (Mike) Riley and getting that offer, I've always been thinking Oregon State," Katz said. "Even while I was getting all those other offers. Everything I've talked about in the past about Oregon State is what I've wanted in a school from the coaches to the family atmosphere to their offense. Coach Riley, Langsdorf, Burton - they're all good guys."
