Rising Stars: Day Two

LOS ANGELES - A prospect from the other side of the country was the star of the second day of the University of Southern California's Rising Star Camp on Friday at the Trojans football practice facilities.

Five-star cornerback Patrick Johnson of Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely again showed why he is an elite prospect, shutting down nearly every receiver he faced and clearly standing out among the star prospects at the event.

The 6-foot-1, 193-pounder, who runs a confirmed 4.37-second 40-yard dash, has outstanding natural ability at cornerback. He has great hips and excellent ball skills and tends to time his movements perfectly to play the ball. His size and speed, along with his general ability to play his position, make him a candidate to be a high NFL draft choice when his college career is over.
