Jackson makes a surprising decision

One of the most highly sought after defensive linemen in the state of Georgia decided to surprisingly end the recruiting process and to commit Sunday evening. Toby Jackson just came off a visit to the University of Georgia on Saturday and that visit was good enough to make him give the Bulldogs a surprising commitment a day later.

"I committed to Georgia Sunday evening," said Jackson. "I called up Coach Rodney Garner and told him I thought it was time for me to go ahead and commit to the University of Georgia."

"Coach Garner couldn't even believe it - he asked me if I was serious and I said yes sir. He and the whole staff was excited and they just could not believe it. He said I caught him off guard and he was just so excited to have me."

Coach Garner passed the phone over the Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt. Coach Richt made sure Jackson was happy with his decision and he was.

"The first thing he said was are you sure that this is the right decision for me and my family and I said yes. I let him know that I was ready and I thought it was a great decision. I told him I was ready to leave Griffin, but not go too far away and I thought Georgia was the perfect place for me. He was real happy and he just told me to make sure I am going with my heart."
