Shifting his focus

Top 2009 quarterback prospect Russell Shepard has been a hot topic among recruiting fans ever since he was a freshman. The water cooler talk really began to pick up earlier this year when Shepard took a couple of unofficial visits, and college coaches from coast to coast have thrown their name into the mix for the blue-chip playmaker.

During Houston Cypress Ridge's spring season, which ended last week, representatives from programs like Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, UCLA, Florida and Virginia (to name be a few) stopped by to see Shepard in action, and the dual-threat signal caller is appreciative of all the attention from college coaches and college football fans.
