Perry facing a change of schools

In early April, the Detroit Public Schools voted to close a number of schools including a handful of high schools. One of those affected is Detroit MacKenzie High School, the alma mater of NFL star Jerome Bettis. MacKenzie is also home to one of the top prospects in the state in the class of 2008, defensive end Nick Perry.

The change in schools could affect the 6-4, 220-pound Perry's recruitment if coaches are not sure what school he lands at. He had already possessed early offers from Michigan, Indiana, Michigan State and West Virginia and has recently added new offers from Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota and Bowling Green. The in-state schools led early on, but Perry is still evaluating each school that has offered.
