Iowa State checks out athlete Presley

Iowa State has had success recruiting Mississippi JUCOs in recent years. Now the Cyclones' new staff is pursuing some of the top high school talent in that state while still mining for players at the often overlooked junior colleges there as well. For example, ISU is among the schools showing very strong interest in Rivals250 athlete Kendrick Presley from Kosciusko High School.

Presley plays quarterback and free safety for the Whippets, who will be in the thick of things for a Class 4-A state championship in Mississippi in 2007.

Presley picked up his third scholarship offer this week, according to Coach Perry. Southern Miss offered him on Wednesday, completing a trio of offers from the state's Division I-A programs as Ole Miss and Mississippi State had previously offered. Also recruiting Presley are Iowa State, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and others.
