Will Mabin play in '07?

Many Northwestern fans had visions of Class of 2007 signee Jordan Mabin making a big impact on the gridiron next season, but a recent shoulder surgery could put his freshman year in jeopardy.

The three-star cornerback told WildcatReport that he tore the labrum and rotator cuff in his left shoulder in early September last year. Not realizing the severity of the injury, Mabin played the rest of the season for Nordonia (Ohio) and didn't have surgery on it until late March.

Mabin chose Northwestern over Pittsburgh and his commitment in early October was seen as a major coup for Wildcats' coach Pat Fitzgerald.
