Marks a good fit at defensive end
Some players might balk at a position change but not Auburn sophomore Sen'Derrick Marks who's move from defensive tackle to defensive end was announced Tuesday with the release of the post-spring depth chart.
"He just enjoys playing the game," said AU defensive ends coach Terry Price. "He doesn't have a preference of where he plays. He just wants to play and help the football team. That's the kind of kid he is. He's a team guy and a great young man.
"He'll do whatever it takes to help the team win."
Price says the move was made in order to get the four best defensive linemen on the field together. Auburn's starters coming out of spring are senior Quentin Groves at weakside end, senior Josh Thompson at noseguard, junior Pat Sims at defensive tackle and Marks at strongside end.
"That's how it looks right now for our first group," said Price. "Those were our four most productive players at the end of spring practice. Productivity is the key here. If you produce, you get on the field first as a starter."
