Spring Practice Rolls On (Day 3)
Quite a crowd turned out for today's practice, no doubt lured by the beautiful sunny weather. There was also several high school coaching staffs on hand. It appears that today and tomorrow, the Oregon State coaching staff is hosting a coaching clinic.
- Linebacker Derrick Doggett remains sidelined by back spasms. Keaton Kristick has filled in admirably for the All-Pac-10 backer. The sophomore made several good plays during the 7-on-7 drills, breaking up several passes. Roy Schuening continues to be bothered by a sore hamstring. That, however, hasn't stopped him from being active. Today, he was mentoring several of the younger offensive linemen. Jeremy Perry, who is sitting out spring ball as he recovers from off-season surgery, has also taken players under wing, especially Ryan Pohl. He was telling Pohl to be more aggressive and showing the redshirt freshman how to be more of force in pass-blocking situations.
