Newton has two in front
Tre Newton burst onto the Texas high school football scene as a sophomore, helping lead Southlake Carroll to the 5A state title and a perfect 16-0 season. Newton rushed for 1,373 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore, playing his best football when it counted the most in the Dragons six-game playoff run.
With the terrific season by Newton, it should come as no surprise that the 6-foot-1, 187-pound running back is receiving recruiting interest from coast to coast. Newton says Nebraska, Ole Miss and Kansas have offered, but expect that number to double in the coming weeks.
