Academics impress King during UGA visit

An athlete to keep an eye on in the Peach State in 2008 is Vance King. King could line up on either side of the ball on the next level. This talented athlete has been receiving a lot of attention from many major programs in recent weeks. One of the schools showing a lot of interest was the University of Georgia and King visited the Bulldogs this weekend. King left Athens naming the Dawgs as his leader.

"Right now, Georgia is definitely my leader," King said. "I really like what Georgia offers academically. They really offer a lot of support with tutors and they give you all the help you need. You have no reason not to graduate from there."

Academics were one of the things that impressed King at Georgia and he talks about other things that caught his eye here.

"I love the weight training program Georgia has," he said. "I have seen it before when I attended a camp and I just like how they run that there. I also like the coaching staff as well. The overall program is great and me and my mom like it a lot."

The coach recruiting King for Georgia is Willie Martinez.

"I like Coach Martinez a lot," said King. "He sends me text messages and he has come to watch me play basketball before. He is a great guy. He talked to me about academics and about what they are recruiting me as. They are recruiting me as an athlete. He told me I could do a lot of different things at Georgia and I like that."
