Vereen discusses UNC official visit

Huntersville (N.C.) North Mecklenburg tailback Daryl Vereen has been committed to the University of Tennessee since June of last year, but with the new coaching staff at North Carolina showing heavy interest, he felt obliged to take an official visit to Chapel Hill this past weekend.

"It was good," Vereen said of the visit. "I took a tour of the whole campus and everything. We went through the academic parts of the whole official visit. It was a good official."

While in Chapel Hill for the visit, Vereen had a chance to speak with head coach Butch Davis, who discussed his plans to reverse UNC's football fortunes.

"He (Davis) said that they were about to turn their program around," Vereen said.
