Jones ready to make a move

During the Mark Richt era in Athens, one position has stood out above all others on the Georgia defense, the safeties. The legacy of Thomas Davis, Sean Jones, Greg Blue, and Jermaine Phillips permeates the practice fields and workout facilities in Athens and one of the brightest future stars in the Georgia secondary is freshman
Reshad Jones.

Jones was the number one rated safety in the country by Rivals.com coming out of Booker T. Washington high school in Atlanta and he spent his first year in Athens on the scout team.

"I feel really good and I enjoyed my redshirt year, I think I got bigger, faster, stronger, and learned more of the system," said Jones.

Jones spent his first year in Athens working on the Georgia scout team preparing the first team offense and simulating elite All-SEC caliber safeties.

"It was a tough year and I had to fight through it, but I think I helped prepare our offense to get better," said Jones of his experiences on the scout team.
