Gilreath talks commitment
On Sunday, BadgerBlitz.com caught up with Wisconsin's latest known verbal commitment, three-star wide receiver David Gilreath, who spoke about why he chose the Badgers over the Iowa Hawkeyes.
You can read comments from Gilreath, who hails from Robbinsdale, Minn., in the question and answer piece below.
Please hit rewind and talk about when you decided you wanted to be a Badger
DG: "Well, it kind of happened right after the visit. I liked my visit a lot and I liked the atmosphere there and I liked the whole thing, the college town. But I just wanted to look at all of the teams evenly, like look at all the bowl games of all the teams and go on all of the visits and just evaluate everything evenly."
Did the winter break, the dead period time, did that help you to think things through? Were you able to talk a lot with your family about your decision? Is that a time you really used to focus on your recruitment?
DG: "Yeah, something like that. I didn't have coaches all in my ear kind of like swaying me one way or something like that. And I talked to my dad about it - and he's a big sports fan, he knows what he's talking about - so that helped me out a lot."
When did you first alert the coaches of your commitment?
DG: "I think this past Wednesday, I can't remember what day."
