Top 2008 DB already receiving interest

Waco High safety Victor Johnson has been regarded as one of the top players in the Lone Star State for the 2008 class for some time. As such, the hard-hitting playmaker was already on the radars of college programs around the country, but Johnson again made a name for himself over the past month in helping lead Waco to the state championship game.

Although the Lions came out on the losing end of a 34-14 decision with La Marque, Johnson certainly did his part to help Waco's keep the game close for three quarters. The 6-foot, 170-pound bluechip returned an interception 40 yards for a score in the game's opening minute to give Waco an early 7-0 lead and the contest was actually tied when the fourth quarter began, only to see La Marque pull away.

With his junior season now in the books, Johnson has gradually begun to turn his attention towards recruiting, where he could be one of the top safety prospects in all of America. He's already picked up offers from Baylor and Texas Tech, and the letters have been pouring in from schools all over America.
