Florida quarterback interested in State

Two weeks ago 6-foot-4, 195-pound quarterback T.J. Borcky of Lake Highland High School in Orlando, Florida thought his recruitment was getting ready to come to a close.

"I was going to my official visit to Cincinnati and as long as everything went well I was going to commit to them."

When Mark Dantonio took the head coaching job at Michigan State Borcky had mixed feelings.

"I was glad for Coach Dantonio, but I was wondering how hat would affect me. I knew Michigan State had a commitment from Keith Nichol."

Fast forward to last Friday when Borcky learned that Nichol took a visit to Oklahoma and stated that he was going to play his football in the Big 12 and not the Big 10.

"I got on that morning and I was shocked. I had to run my eyes to see if what I was reading was true."

Borcky said he spoke with Michigan State offensive line coach Dan Roushar, and at the time they spoke Roushar was unaware that Nichol had de-committed. Roushar has been on the road non-strop since he accepted a position at Michigan State.

Coach Rosuhar said he would talk to Coach Dantonio and get back with me. When they were at Cincinnati they said they wanted to take 2 quarterbacks; they already had 1 quarterback who is real athletic, Chazz Anderson. I was told I was the top guy on the board for the other spot.

So now that Coach Dantonio is at Michigan State is that a possible option for you.

"Definitely, I was going to commit to Cincinnati because of the coaches there. They are great guys. If they want me at Michigan State I would love to go up there.

Borcky indicated that next weekend he will be visiting Colorado State. In addition to the Rams, Ole Miss has also been showing Borcky regular interests. He and Drew Weatherford are viewed as the top candidates for an offer from the Rebels. If the Rebels miss out on Stephen Garcia, Borcky could be the guy.

Many view Borcky as a player with a lot of upside. He is a coach's son and the fact that his father is 6-foot-8, 300-pounds makes it likely that Borcky is not nearly done growing yet. will be following up with Borcky later this week. has video of Borcky in action from his junior year. Note: has also learned that St Thomas Aquinas quarterback Wesley Carroll could have interest in Michigan Stat as well. Carroll was a teammate of Brent Swenson. He currently is favoring Miss State and N/C. State, both school shave offered. Carroll is still playing as St Thomas Aquinas is in the championship game again.
