Pasadena Disaster

The Trojan machine was rolling along through their daunting four game stretch to end the regular season. After peppering Oregon, Cal and Notre Dame, there was only UCLA, a two touchdown underdog, between USC and a 3rd straight national championship game. The Bruins came to play however, and scratched out a 13-9 victory over the Trojans.

The biggest question going into Saturday's contest centered around a Trojan letdown after an emotional win over Notre Dame. To a man the players and coaches said they were ready and were taking the Bruins seriously.

Apparently not seriously enough.

A letdown doesn't begin describe the ineptness the Trojans showed on offense. They were out of synch, lacking anything resembling rhythm and ran a gameplan that was seemingly void of a coherent strategy and played directly into the strength of the UCLA defense.
