Cal-USC Preview

The No. 17 ranked Golden Bears look to keep their Rose Bowl hopes alive when they visit the No. 4 ranked Trojans at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday.

California said all the right things two weeks ago. There was Nate Longshore, who after the victory over UCLA said, "Tucson, Tucson. That's all we're thinking about."

And coach Jeff Tedford, who told reporters in the week leading up to the Arizona game, "I think our guys are mature enough to understand that they need to prepare each and every day, each and every game."

The Golden Bears (8-2, 6-1 Pac-10) were not looking ahead, at least they said they weren't, but last week against Arizona they sure looked as they were looking ahead and played a sloppy game in the Wildcats' 24-20 upset victory. What makes the loss even tougher to swallow is that California blew a 17-3 lead.
