Houston-area junior reaching new heights
Every running back's goal before the start of each season is the 1,000-yard plateau.
The number is a benchmark at every level for excellence. For a few of the great ones, the 2,000-yard mark is the higher prize.
Ask Houston Cy Fair running back Sam McGuffie, who has already had to adjust his bar for excellence quite a few times this season. The junior running back has already rushed for 2,303 yards and 31 touchdowns this season, and enters the playoffs this weekend with an active string of five consecutive games of at least 220 yards.
McGuffie is interested in Texas Tech, Texas, Texas A&M and Michigan.
