COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Nebraska was partying on Saturday like it was 1999.
The Huskers (8-3, 5-2) clinched their first Big 12 North title since 1999 with a thrilling 28-27 fourth quarter comeback victory over Texas A&M (8-3, 4-3) and will play for the conference championship in Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium on Dec. 2.
Winning the North has been the goal for this team all season and NU head coach Bill Callahan said to get it done in such a dramatic fashion makes the moment even sweeter.
"We came back from behind and that's what championship teams are all about," Callahan said. "Coming back from behind late in the fourth in the two-minute offense to win the game-that's a thing of beauty.
"It was a great win for our program and our state. I'm just so proud of our players."
