Back in the Race

For Blue Springs offensive tackle Donald Stephenson, the past few months have been an up and down ride. After committing to Kansas early in the summer, Stephenson re-opened his recruitment. Now, after breaking a toe, Stephenson is looking to get back on the field.

Stephenson, who stands 6-foot-4, said in the past few weeks, several schools have stopped by the school to visit him and watch him and his Blue Springs teammates.

This past weekend, Stephenson continued his tour of schools by making a trip to Columbia to watch two of the top schools recruiting him play. After a water-logged trip, Stephenson said he enjoyed the trip eastward.

Stephenson added that after his de-commitment from the Jayhawks, he started to see a rebuilding of a relationship with Andy Hill. He added that for a while, a different team had snuck into his top 3, but after this weekend, it may not be so easy.

Stephenson said that while he was at the game, he got a chance to talk with an old friend, but that despite his friend's wishings, Stephenson added that he has to take his time the second go-around.
