Nebraskan watching the battle for Iowa

Elkhorn (Neb.) defensive end Kevin Thomsen knows exactly what he'll be doing on Saturday at 11 a.m.: sitting in front of the TV at his house in suburban Omaha, watching Iowa and Iowa State battle for supremacy on the gridiron.

Thomsen, a 6-foot-2, 250-pound senior with offers in hand from Colorado State and Wyoming of the Mountain West Conference, will be taking a look at two teams that he could be playing for next fall. Both the Cyclones and Hawkeyes have taken a big interest in Thomsen, though neither school has made an offer.

"I'm looking forward to watching the game," Thomsen said. "I was actually going to go, but some other things came up, and I'll have to head to another game at Iowa later this season. But I can't wait to see the game."
