Bombs Away For Cal Offense

After Thursday's scrimmage, Cal quarterback Nate Longshore was asked if he was upset that he didn't get to throw any deep passes to his receivers.


"Not really," said the sophomore non-chalantly. "I'll throw some tomorrow."


He was right, as Friday's morning practice in Memorial Stadium was highlighted by several spectacular bombs.


Longshore hit Robert Jordan on a 67-yard TD during 11 on 11 drills, then Joe Ayoob connected with running back Marshawn Lynch for another 67-yard TD. Wide receiver LaVelle Hawkins got in on the act, too, taking a short pass from Longshore and going 60 yards to the end zone.
