Q&A with the Buffaloes' latest commitment

Last Friday, Colorado landed their third in-state prospect from the Class of 2007 when Ethan Adkins made his pledge.

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive lineman from Castle Rock (Colo.) Douglas County is ranked by as the fourth best recruit from the Centennial State.

When it came down to it and you made your commitment to CU, what was it that ultimately separated the Buffs from the other programs that had offered you a scholarship?

Ethan Adkins: "I think it was probably the overall feel of the college and the coaches. It was just the right fit."

Was there a particular time when it clicked for you, when you knew you wanted to commit to CU?

"It was kind of a slow process. I had been talking to another school and they kept saying that they wanted to recruit me, but the whole time I kind of thought, 'If they want me, why haven't they offered?' So it was kind of a slow process."

Walk me through your commitment to CU…who did you talk to and what was their reaction?

"I committed last Friday at their Friday Night Light's camp because I wanted to do it in person rather than over the phone. I went through the camp and then at the end of the camp, I was waiting for Coach Hawkins and I went up to him and said that I decided I wanted to be a Buff. He was excited and then he called Coach Strausser over and he said they were glad that I committed."
