Jacksonville tailback loves USC

Jacksonville, Fla., Andrew Jackson three-star running back Troy Pollard was one of the most productive backs in the Sunshine State last season, racking up almost 2,000 yards and 23 touchdowns. He currently has one scholarship offer on the table, and is getting strong interest from elsewhere.

"Illinois has offered me a scholarship, and I also really like South Carolina and USF," the 5-foot-8, 180-pound Pollard said. "I've already visited Illinois, and I'm going to visit South Carolina and USF in the future."

Pollard, who has been timed in the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds, enjoyed his trip to Illinois.

"Illinois just has a great atmosphere and a lot of good people. The summer weather was nice, and I liked the campus, the facilities and all that. Coach (Ron) Zook and his crew are good people. They're losing two running backs after this year, so the depth chart looks pretty good, too."
