Action heating up in Lincoln
You can feel it in the air as the activity starts to pick up in earnest in Lincoln. College football is just around the corner. The Husker football coaching staff has been busy moving into their new offices in the Tom and Nancy Osborne Complex, and head coach Bill Callahan and three players were in Kansas City for this week's Big 12 Conference annual media days.
While fall practice doesn't start until Aug. 3, there will be some recruits who will be taking unofficial visits to Lincoln this week to see if Nebraska could be the best fit for them. They both play their high school ball in the state of Oklahoma.
Last week, Bixby (Okla.) linebacker and defensive end prospect Jared Glover told HuskersIllustrated.com of his plans:
"Yes sir, I'm taking my last trips next week," the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Glover said. "I'm going to Arkansas on Monday; then I'm flying out Tuesday for a Wednesday morning visit to Nebraska; and we'll go to Colorado on the 28th (of July) - I think that's a Friday. I plan to hit them all in the same week."
Glover's parents will travel with him for all three stops. They're particularly interested in talking with all three coaching staffs to get a feel for how Jared will fit into their future plans.
