Aliquippa star in no hurry
Aliquippa standout Brandon Lindsey (6' 2") is sitting of a half dozen scholarship offers but tells the Pantherlair he is in no hurry to make a decision.
Lindsey told the Pantherlair, "I will take my visits later this year."
Lindsey indicated that he is getting some interest as a running back although acknowledge that most schools are recruiting him to play outside linebacker.
Last fall Lindsey gained 1,251 yards as a running back and scored 19 touchdowns. On defense he played some on the defensive line and some at middle linebacker. He was in on 120 tackles and had 11 sacks plus three fumble recoveries.
Aliquippa had a "down" year by the Quips standards and went 8-2. They were eliminated in the first round of the WPIAL AA playoffs. Lindsey said, "We have 8 or 9 returning on offense and 8 or 9 returning on defense. We should be back in the state playoff hunt again this fall."
Brandon Lindsey is an all around athlete. He played on Aliquippa's basketball team that put together a 26 game wining streak before finishing 28-3. In addition to Lindsey the Quips return two nationally ranked basketball players in Herb Pope and Jonathan Baldwin. Aliquippa will not only be a state title contender in football but the favorite to win it all in basketball.
Lindsey comes from an athletic family. His brother played college football for Northwestern. Lindsey is also a good student with a 3.4 GPA and is a projected qualifier.
Brandon Lindsey was recently ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 14 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania. Lindsey is being recruited to Pitt by assistant coach Bob Junko.
Pitt graduates linebackers H.B. Blades, Clint Session and Brian Bennett this year. They figure to recruit at least one more linebacker to help ease their loss.
