Florida LB high on Tide
With only a few spots left to fill in the 2007 recruiting class, Mike Shula and the Crimson Tide coaching staff would still like to land another strong linebacker prospect to join commits Jennings Hester and Rolando McClain.
Bushnell, Fla., native Kendall Smith could be just the man the Tide is looking for. The 6-foot-1, 207 pound inside linebacker is the 4th ranked linebacker in the state of Florida and put up some very impressive numbers during his junior season at South Sumpter High School.
Smith said he's taking a hard look at the Tide and currently lists them as one of his top two offers.
"There are two schools I'm looking at the most, that's Alabama and South Florida," Smith said. "They are real high on my recruitment. Now I'm just going to wait until the upcoming season to take my visits and see who's going to treat me like it's home."
Smith also boasts offers from Iowa State and UCF and has expressed interest in several ACC schools, including Florida State and Miami, that have yet to offer him.
