Hokies offer DE Jackson at camp
Last weekend defensive end Jamar Jackson out of Richmond, Va., Varina joined teammates Bud Tribbey and Davon Morgan to Blacksburg. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder had a good day participating in the Hokies senior camp and he even left the camp with a scholarship.
"The visit went really well. I like Virginia Tech a lot," he said. "When I was there, I ran a 40-yard dash, did some one-on-one drills and more. I felt like I did pretty well and that's the reason they offered me. The coaches told me they like my athletic ability a lot."
Jackson is thrilled to receive the offer from the Hokies.
"I was just looking at the offer from Tech and I'm very happy about it," he said. "Coach Beamer officially gave it to me and said he really liked the way I performed and wanted me to have an offer. I didn't consider committing then as I have to talk to my parents about what I want to do some more."
