Recent Commitments Shake Things Up

If you're more than a casual Tennessee football fan, chances are that this week you've been knocked out of your mid-summer reverie long enough to notice that your Vols picked up three football commitments in the span of four days, given them a total of eight verbal pledges now in the '07 class. With that sort of early activity, there's bound to be some other targets on the board that are affected by the moves.


The most obvious position that will change in terms of recruiting from here on out is at quarterback. At first there was debate as to whether or not the staff would even look to sign one in this class, and then when it appeared that they would, the argument moved on to which available (and interested) prospect might be the best fit.


The drama over that particular piece of the recruiting puzzle came to an abrupt end on Tuesday when the coaching staff decided to the pull the trigger offer a scholarship to Chattanooga's B.J. Coleman. It was obviously news Coleman had been waiting on, and he wasted little time in committing.
