Clemson working for position with Alabama tackle

Clemson could end up with as many as three verbal commits from the defensive tackle position for the 2007 recruiting class. Already committed is Central Daniel lineman Jarvis Jenkins.


But another top defensive tackle target is Athens, Ala. lineman Alfred McCullough.


The 6-foot-3, 297-pound defensive tackle - offensive guard totaled 11 sacks as a junior, also tallying 67 tackles and 16 tackles for loss.


"I'm a player who's always going to come off the ball hard. I stay low, and I never stop working," McCullough told Tigerillustrated.com in a Monday evening interview.


The Athens standout has offers from Alabama, South Carolina, Clemson, Ole Miss and Southern Mississippi. And those schools make up his early shortlist.
