Vols land North Carolina's Vereen

Huntersville, N.C., running back Daryl Vereen put on a show in front of the Tennessee coaches Saturday at the Vols senior one day camp and finished off his performance by giving head coach Phillip Fulmer and Dan Brooks, who recruited him, a verbal commitment.

"I got it done on the spot today," 5-foot-11, 192 pound Vereen said. "It just feels like home at Tennessee. It was a real good experience today on campus. This is where I feel like I fit in the best."

Vereen said he commitment is firm and that he is not interested in taking anymore visits this summer or this winter.

"I have been learning about Tennessee on the internet," Vereen said. "I think I should have a good chance to play as a sophomore if not as a freshman, but definitely my sophomore year I should have a real good chance to play."
